On May 14th/15th 2012 a workshop was held as part of the Smart CSOs Lab learning process. In this learning process we aim to foster new connections and relationships between change agents, get inspirations for new CSO strategies toward the Great Transition, align our strategic thinking as well as develop ideas to start experimenting with in our own organisations.

At this workshop we got inspirations from Silke Helfrich about the political concept of The Commons and how it can serve as a structural principle for the New Economy and as a unifying theme for cultural transformation.

We learned about historical social movements, their emergence, their impact and how this understanding does or does not apply to the context of the Great Transition. We asked ourselves what role CSO campaigns can play in supporting the emergence of a citizen movement for the Great Transition. Orion Kriegman (Tellus Institute) and Felix Kolb (Campact) kickstarted the discussion with their views on these questions.

The discussions led to some very interesting ideas on how we can start transforming our organisations and strategies to make them fit for the purpose of supporting the emergence of a global movement for the Great Transition.

Please see the workshop report for more details.
